A clear northern window

Dry air after midnight. The Milky Way held steady above the ridge while Saturn rose in the east.

Transparency improved quickly after dusk. The western horizon stayed bright, but the zenith was already clean enough for wide-field observing.

The North America Nebula showed a distinct gulf at low power. A faint breeze kept the corrector plate clear without a heater.

Thin cloud arrived from the south before dawn. Flats finished as the first birds began calling below the ridge.
